Each summer ReConstruct hires a number of part-time employees to staff each week of projects. Below are job descriptions for each of these positions.

Project Director (Must be 23 years of age or older)
This position takes the lead in implementing all logistics for a ReConstruct Project week. Under the direction of the President and Vice-President the primary role of the Project Director is to be the “voice” of ReConstruct to the participating church groups. After the ReConstruct staff has finalized all the logistics related to lodging, meals, project and programming, the Project Director will serve as the person “in charge” for the project week. They are also responsible for the cohesion of the summer staff and program staff. The duties of the Project Director are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Communicate with registered groups concerning the logistics of their ReConstruct project. This includes but is not limited to: project coordination, schedule for the week, project mission and goals, lodging, site seeing opportunities, and transportation requirements
- Reside at the lodging facility during the project week to assist volunteer groups with lodging, meals, transportation, schedule and program logistics.
- Perform a post project follow up with group leaders and collect evaluation forms.
- Supervise and hold accountable the ReConstruct summer staff and direct them in their duties as needed.
- Coordinate with the Program Developer the usage of space at the lodging facility, daily project schedule in relation to accomplishing the goals of the ReConstruct Program.
- Direct the staff in leading participants in their nightly activities.
Summer Staff
Facility Assistant/Photographer (2 — College age or older)
This position works with the Project Director to ensure the integrity of the lodging facility. This includes but is not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Maintaining food inventory for participant lunches (if applicable)
- Maintaining a clean facility
- Participate in the lives of students and be involved in nightly activities.
Each week ReConstruct captures the volunteer groups on digital pictures as they work at their project site. An edited and completed DVD is shown at the end of each project week. We also upload selected pictures on our website so parents and church members can see there project as it progresses.
This person will also be responsible for taking digital pictures of individual volunteers and groups, uploading them on our site daily and creating the DVD for groups to take home at end of each project week. The person in this position must have a general knowledge of digital photography and will be working with iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD. Training is available for this position.
Construction Supervisors (4 — College age or older)
The construction supervisors will provide technical assistance to volunteer groups as they repair homes. Supervisors need to have a good all-around knowledge of roofing, painting, and general carpentry. In some situations supervisors may be called upon to lead a volunteer group, so the ability to lead and work with students is a must. Having a truck as your personal vehicle is helpful. Duties include:
Responsibilities
- Making small deliveries from vendors to project sites
- Transporting equipment to and from project sites.
- Occasional home assessments with ReConstruct staff
- Participate in the lives of students and be involved in nightly activities
